Lovers Lane

  1. Love all these windows and doors of an older time before "improvements". Manitou was a favorite town of mine in the 80s/90s. I never go to the CS area without going to Manitou and Adam's. Though I preferred it when it was that little speck of an intimate place. "improvements"...I like worn and weathered and small.

  2. How sweet is that! An actual Lovers Lane...now I wonder why it was called that? LOL. Do you know any of the history of the name?

There's a place in the town of Guanajuato, Mexico (a lovely town!) called the kissing alley and of course Mr. I and I had to have a kiss there.

  3. Oh Susan, I love all these photos - they are fascinating. I want to go down Lovers Lane and look around and capture all this with my camera as well. I especially love the light in the pictures, so warm and golden, and it brings out the colors. Thank you for posting these, what a joy!

  4. One Kiss, how awesome to know that you've visited Manitou! Adams is still going strong, of couse ... had they moved into the Spa building when you were there last? Glad that you stopped by!

Kate, from what we know, it starts on the east end of town where there used to be a couple of very large hotels and the guests would stroll up the lane in the evenings by the creek and end up at the arcade & food & amusements. I'm sure it was alot prettier back in that time but we like it still. Thanks for the interest.

Hey Carola, it is a great photo taking place, there is alot of wonderful old doors & windows around, my favorite!

  7. Susan, I was at Adam's twice at the Spa building and countless times in the old location. Loved that old place. So tiny and personal. Thanx for all the Colorado pictures. They are very dear to my heart.

  8. I have never seen an actual Lovers Lane before. I thought they only appeared in books or the movies. That is brilliant.

There are so many stories and so much history behind all those doors and windows. Fantastic!
