  2. Learning to accept what is given...that can be a hard and slow process, but necessary for a happy life. This post was poetic and accepting and a big deal to write...staying for now instead of going for the sake of going...not an easy thing to do. Your words put me right there on the porch, smelling the rain (there is no better scent than rain!), enjoying the blue and sun, hoping it remains, knowing it won't, appreciating the moment for just having you in it.
And that photo is really lovely!

  4. a wandering soul is hard to settle .. I know my dad implanted the gypsy spirit in me long long ago. he moved us about every year for awhile. a restless foot is what my hubby calls it. mine happens in the fall too.. i think you are right . it is a migratorial instinct .. my cure .. {i use that loosely} we vacation to the sea over thanksgiving time off. 4 days in a yurt in Oregon in Astoria where the ocean meets the mountains. you would love it there .. the town is really old and on the side of a mountain. we could meet at http://www.bluescorcher.com for a tea and goodie :) enjoy that sunshine! .. and pass some on over here if you can :)

    1. I would love to send you a lot of these beautiful, warm rays ... it's another perfect day here. I will love thinking about this condition of ours as restless foot from now go, I'm convinced that it will never go away. What a wonderful solution you've found, a yurt in Oregon ... I think all us gals should hook up there in that little old town on the side of a mountain!

  6. First I have to tell you, Susan, that I was thrilled to draw your name for the giveaway on my blog! I'll be having a copy of Artful Blogging sent to your door. When you get a chance, send me an email at gigi.thibodeau@gmail.com with your mailing address, so I can send it your way! :)

I also have to say that your post really resonated with me. I'm having an even harder time "falling back" this year than I normally do. And, like you, I was feeling lulled by the mild, golden days of October. It's been so beautiful in Maine all fall until now. Then we got slammed with a snowstorm over the weekend and I remembered where it is that I live. Sigh. There's much to love about this time of year, too, so I am learning to embrace the beauty of it and stop dreaming half the year away in anticipation of spring! xo Gigi

    1. I just emailed you & I'm smiling big! But sorry to hear about the snow storm, we were so surprised that didn't happen here, we seem to always get our first serious snow near Halloween. Even knowing that it's going to happen doesn't make it any less a shock to your body & mind. So each pretty day we have should be enjoyed to the fullest .... and we'll all make it thru another winter.
      Thanks for coming by.

  8. I will ever and always think of you as the Wild Woman, Susan...the Native American so ready and willing and able to move with the wind. I love how you tell us about your life there, knowing nothing will ever stay the same. :)
