  2. Waking up this morning on the other side of the world and having the opportunity for a quick internet connection before we head out this evening for the long long travel home...I can't tell you how much I needed to read your post. THANK YOU so much...not enough time to explain...but this has really touched my heart. I'm so happy I'm in your tribe.

  3. such a beautiful post. friendship is a state of mind. A connectedness you feel. I'd like to think it is because you can see the world through a friends eyes, and can find peace through their lens, and a harmony in understanding their view. I like the notion that we all contribute to that critical mass in changing the world, if we stand together and do what we can within our reach. If we all did that, it would be pretty powerful.

  4. In Our Reach...That is what jumped out at me. The enormity of what needs fixing is crushing, but Within Our Reach is doable. The more horrible events that happen, the more within our reach we need to reach out. May we never stop reaching, even if this madness stops.
Thank you for posting this Susan.

  7. Wonderful words which touch me exactly where I am at the moment, doubting, scared and bewildered. Thanks for thinking about it, for reaching out, for being a kind of rock to me at times. X

  8. Susan, this reached so far within my heart. I do see more and more people being drawn to say something, to write something, to look for ways to help immigrants and groups who promote non-violence and so much more. I see the waves rolling outward, carrying all those ships. I have loved Estes' writing since I bought the book "Women Who Run With the Wolves" and it helped me heal from a very dark time. But I hadn't seen this essay before. Thank you so much for sharing it!

  10. Yes. I know what you mean. I'd like to add the Joni Mitchel song, specific to this time of year: "Wish I had a river" . A beautiful post, Susan.

  11. A beautiful post, Susan. Words so true - I have to let them sink in. They do speak to me. (While reading this I always had Galadriel's voice in my head, the wise elf in Lord of the Rings. It is her language.)
